The club was founded on 9 March 1908 as Football Club Internazionale, following the schism with the Milan Cricket and Football Club (now AC Milan). The name of the club derives from the wish of its founding members to accept foreign players without limits as well as Italians.
Inter is the only Italian side to have always competed in the top flight of Italian football Serie A since its debut in 1909.
"This wonderful night bestows us with the colours of our crest: black and blue against a gilded backdrop of stars. It shall be called International, because we are brothers of the world."
This is how his iconic black and blue vertical striped uniform was born, apart from a brief parenthesis in 1928 and 2008 when he adopted a red cross-and-white shirt as the symbol of Milan.
Its palmarès includes 19 Scudettos, 8 Italian Cups and 6 Italian Super Cups while at an international level it won 3 European Cups / Champions League, 3 UEFA Cups, 2 Intercontinental Cups and a FIFA Club World Cup. In 2010 it became the first and only Italian team to win the Triplete, winning the Champions League, the Scudetto and the Italian Cup.
Among the great champions of history who have worn the Nerazzurri shirt, we find Giuseppe Meazza, Sandro Mazzola, Luisito Suarez, Giacinto Facchetti, Lothar Matthaus, Jurgen Klinsmann, Roberto Carlos and of course Ronaldo, the Fenomeno, Golden Ball in 1997 and 2002.
Captain Javier Zanetti boosted the team into years with champions such as Christian Vieri, Samuel Eto'o, Diego Milito, Weslej Snejider, Maicon, Marco Materazzi, who have always tread the lawn of the Giuseppe Meazza stadium, San Siro
